What criteria cannot be used to create a Custom Segment?

When creating a Customer Segment, ad type is not a valid criteria to use.
Custom Segments within Google Analytics use Dimensions (qualitative data) and Metrics (quantitative data). Based on certain dimensions and metrics, you can create component filters which dictate certain sequences (or conditions) based on user actions.
For example, you can set a filter to add a customer to your segment based upon revenue or metric value. You can also create a filter to add customers based on age or dimension value. Finally, you can add a filter to incorporate users that performed a certain hit or action on your website.
Because it doesn’t fit within dimensions, metrics, component filters, or action sequences, ad type is not criteria that you can use when creating a Custom Segment.
